ABOUT ME

Steven G. Deaton was born in California on Veteran’s Day, 1950.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from California State University, Chico in 1981.

His professional career includes police work with the City of Ashland, Oregon, Police Department and the Portland Police Bureau, City of Portland, Oregon.

 

Steve’s aviation career began with the US Army. His service included tours as a combat helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War, a combat surveillance pilot in Korea, and an Aircraft Commander of a utility transport airplane in Operation Desert Storm. Steve served as an Army Aviator for 28 years before retiring in 1998. But he has been flying ever since.

Steve has logged in excess of 20,000 flight hours on a global scale and in a wide variety of aircraft and circumstances. He has flown military, corporate, commercial, and freight operations; in desert hot, Alaska cold, to tropical humid and transoceanic and intercontinental environments.
